I want to get life insurance, but I am not sure whhich type of insurance I should get. I have done lots of research and majority of the research tells me to get term life insurance, but I am still confused to why. Here is a little about me: 30 years old, married, and have a baby. Non-smoker, and overall healthy, minus some arthritis. My first thought is to get whole life insurance because it definitely covers my family if I pass away when I am a lot older. However, I then hear that whole life is not a great investment - too expensive and lot of cost/fees involved, you don't really know how much of your premiums are going into your insurance and how much is going into the savings where the company invest the money. After hearing that, I think well term isn't so bad then. I get a lower premium for the same amount of life insurance. But then, I know term insurance only last a limited time. I see 30 years usually being the longest term life insurance. Well 30 years from now (considering nothing happens to me in the next 30 years), I will only be 60. That is still pretty young and then I wil have to renew my term insurance, but at 60, my premium will be a lot more than it would be right now. SO as you can see, I am at a lost and have no clue what to do. I would like some opinions, feedback, suggestions, etc, that would be much appreciated. (side note- when explaining which insurance is better, please explain in simple terms. I posted awhile back and I had some responses with very advanced insurance explanations that confused me! lol). ;) Oh, I do have life insurance with my company, but it's not much and I don't see mysefl staying with this company, so I prefer getting my own private life insurance.

A few days ago I scraped a co-worker's vehicle in our work parking lot. She wasn't in a proper parking space, but whatever, it was clearly my fault. I am paying for repairs to her car. I have pictures of my vehicle after the accident, but not of hers, because she left for the day while I was trying to find out who I had hit and find her in the building. I was laid off in December (company went under) and in March I got pregnant. I have not found a permanent job and at this point am not going to try - who's going to hire a pregnant woman, right? Just got notice from my insurance company (auto only) that they are going to be ordering insurance loss history reports and motor vehicle reports. They will help determine our eligibility for insurance and the price we may be charged. All well and good. But here's the kicker, the part I don't get. They also say that they may order additional consumer reports that include our credit info. They may use a credit-based insurance score based on that info. And they may use a 3rd party to develop our credit-based insurance score. Is this normal? Do many companies do this? Is this something that anyone else is outraged about, and is anyone fighting this? How can I find out what my employer pays for my health insurance?

My employer tells me that they pay 70% of my health insurance premiums, but looking at the amount my 30% portion is and calculating the total, it would be a ridiculous total premium. So I think that my employer is lying to me about the percentage they pay. I tried calling the insurance company to find out what the total premiums are, but they would not tell me. Is there a way that I can find out what what the total premiums are on my health insurance plan?

I'm 16, I got in a big car accident.. I flipped over my car twice. Fortunately, I was untouched and I was the only one involved. Naturally, I was taken off the insurance policy and lost my car. Before, I had the good student discount so we paid $350 for half a year as a full time driver. How much would I have to pay to be a full time driver now after the accident? My dad said $2000 but it can't be that much? Will they strip me of my good student discount? How much will it cost to be put on as a part time driver now? Will it go down after a year? Please help?! I've been very depressed as the whole experience was very traumatizing. My mom keeps giving me a tough time about it and I just cry randomly throughout the day and eat all the time to cope. I don't understand how it could happen to me, I'm a model student, I have straight A pluses in all advanced and AP classes and I was even following the law when I had my accident. I'm an 18 year old male and live in Florida. I have state farm insurance and I was paying 167 a month for minimum car insurance, I have a clean record and I drive a 97 Honda civic. I had a mechanical failure in my car that caused my wheel to fly off while I was driving, I filed a claim and all of a sudden they want 365 a month for minimum coverage, why am I paying so much, 167 already seemed steep to me, I work part time and that basically a week of pay for me.
